Habitats in the Woodland

In Science we have been exploring animal habitats and found lots of evidence of habitats in our Woodland this Spring.

Did you know that animals and insects who live in forest and woodland habitats rely on the trees to give them what they need – shelter, food, and protection from other creatures?

Look at what we found living in our Woodland.

What other living things did we find? Have a look in your gardens and please leave me a comment if you find any habitats. Thank you, Mrs McCabe x.

Under the Sea

Our new topic for Summer term is Under the Sea.

I am really looking forward to sharing some lovely stories and finding out facts about creatures that live in the sea.

Do you have a favourite sea creature?

Can you find out any interesting facts about them? I love turtles and was exceptionally lucky to swim with them last Summer. They are beautiful. gentle and graceful. Turtles have existed for 220 million years, lay their eggs on land and have a hard shell that protects them like a shield.

Please post your favourite creatures on our blog, I can’t wait to read them.

IF’s egg-cellent egg competition entries.

Have a look at our egg-ceptional entries to Highfield’s Easter Egg Competition 2018.

You all put lots of effort into your designs, I was egg-static.

Unfortunately, there could only be 1 winner and 2 runners up.

Congratulations to Liam, Faran and Charlie-Mae.
