What a fantastic day today at Shine! We have been working with Allison Clarke today to create own own masks and a backdrop for the new project, A Night On Bare Mountain! We also created some icicle costumes! We have also listened to the music and created some Art and IT based on how the music made us feel as well as Team and Parachute Games.

Welcome to our new project for the Summer Term- A Night On Bare Mountain by Mussorgsky. It is based on Russian folklore and depicts the night of the 23rd June, also known as St John’s Eve, which, according to popular belief, is the night when evil forces are at work and witches gather on top of the mountain. The music finishes with six chimes ringing out from the church bell. These chimes tell the witches that the sun is coming up, and it is time for them to disappear and they can come back again next year! The music also features in Disney’s 1940s film Fantasia.
Wow! What a fantastic concert by the Halle. Which part of the concert did you enjoy the most? What did you think of the scratch and sniff cards?
Wow! We have had so much fun today! We have been working with the Halle on our performance as well as making our own retro arcade games with Miss Weller! Green group have been working with Miss Woolrich on some drama and we have made some angry birds with Mrs Frank. We have also worked with Mr Cowperthwaite on some art work based on Australian animals.
