Representing 2-digit numbers
All 2-digit numbers have TENS and ONES. Each digit has a value. Look at the number 37 in the Part-Whole Model below. The number has been partitioned into tens and ones. The 3 has the value 30 because it is 3 tens, the 7 has the value 7 because it is 7 ones.
If you wrote this as a number sentence it would look like this: 30+7=37. The switcher would look like this: 7+30=37.
